Twenty years ago there was the "revival circuit". Films like "Eraser Head", "Repo Man", and "Zardoz" or some of the Woody Allen comedies would resurface often to a standing room only crowd. The gate was usually a buck or two below the first run houses. That and a burger made a first class cheap date. How many revival houses are left? The VCR and DVD have shut them down. They’ve also made inroads into the first run cinema. $20 plus the crap from the snack bar make up a significant portion of the purchase price of a DVD.
