Over the past five or six years, there has been no shortage of Hollywood talent eager to fulfill a childhood ambition and write for the comics. Creators making the crossover run the gamut from film directors like Kevin Smith and Joss Whedon to TV figures like "Grey’s Anatomy" executive producer Allan Heinberg. Rarely do these writers have a long history with the character they are seeking to immortalize in comics. That is, unless they’re Richard Donner.
