In response to the comment by ’anonymous’ indicating that this is a rip-off of Buffy, it should be noted that ’Blood Ties’ is based on Tanya Huff’s very popular (and very good) Blood novels, which predate Buffy by several years. ’Blood Price’ is the first Blood novel and was first published in 1991. The first episode of Buffy was aired in March of 1997.
Tanya Huff’s books came first.
I’m a huge fan of both the Blood novels and Buffy. And Blood Ties is awesome — it’s as quotable as Buffy, and so far, two eps in, it’s remained very true to the feel of the (...)
