It’s highly unlikely she’s been "yanked". For one, they wouldn’t do it unless they had Grace all lined up beforehand and it wouldn’t appear that they do. For two, Maggie Grace is no upgrade from Sarah. She’s a much smaller name with no background in the genre at all and was Nispel’s #2 choice. You don’t take number 2 if you can have number 1.
My guess would be Gellar walked for some reason, whether it be frustration that the film appears to be going nowhere or because she has something else lined up. There were those recent rumors about her being interested in the new Darren Star project. (...)
