I saw the show and liked it very much. I think the comparison to Buffy is valid in some ways - both are strong characters who had to grow up fast and take on some difficult responsibilities due to a change in their life’s circumstances. The dialog on BtVS may have been more cutting edge with its pop references, but VM has a brisk pace and enough wit to make it stand out amongst the soap-opera schmaltz you see on most channels nowadays. The plot had a nice unpredictability, too, which I found refreshing. I hope this show continues for a long time - there is so little "good television" (...)
