1996? Not really... Domain Name: SMGFAN.COM Creation Date: 02-oct-1997 Expiration Date: 01-oct-2005

Why did they shut down? Was it just lack up interest and free time or other reasons? It just seems abrupt with all the movies SMG has planned for the future.

Thursday 31 March 2005, by Turquoise B. :

But why? Anyone know anything about this? It was a good site.

Nooooooo!

Anybody know why it was closed and without any warning?

Friday 1 April 2005, by Tehom :

For real? Because SMGfan.com was up a few days ago with no indication of closing, and the link seems to be redirected to "sarahmichelleprinze.com", and it doesn’t look like SMGfan.com’s usual style.

I’m smelling an April Fools joke. Don’t believe what you hear on 1st April.

Friday 1 April 2005, by xander :

the website is closed since 2-3 days, it can’t be an 1st april joke !

Friday 1 April 2005, by Eric :

I don’t think they’re closed. I think this might be a joke. The owners are not the kind of people that would just close a huge and popular site without notice to the fans. They’re better than that. Besides, they’ve only been showing that message since yesterday, March 31, so it’s very possible that it’s an early April Fool’s joke.

Friday 1 April 2005, by Anonymous :

It was an "offiical" site, probably set up through the William Morris agency, which as we all know—Sarah left recently....

The fact that no official announcement has been made leads me to believe that this is an April Fool’s joke and that it’ll all be over by today or tomorrow. That site can’t close without saying a word to all the fans that have been visiting there all these years.

And yes, the site has been in existence since 1996. I know cause I’ve been going there since early 1997.

Sites back up...it was just an April Fools Joke..and a very good one at that considering the state it got everyone in lol. The first giveaway was that it was redirected to sarahmichelleprinze.com. Anyone who uses the site on a regular basis knows thats the address for the emergency board and a perfect place to put up a ’’temporary’’ front page.

Well folks, it was an April Fool’s joke after all. The site isn’t closed and the owners just pulled the joke one day early, which in my opinion was a great idea. We weren’t expecting it then so it worked.

i just went to the site and it’s live and kickin...

Saturday 2 April 2005, by Anonymous :

Ha Ha it was a joke! That was a great April Fool!

Saturday 2 April 2005, by spike108 :
