[SPOILER WARNING: Spoilers for this week's issue of "Angel & Faith" lie below. And for a look at future Buffy, check out CBR's preview of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 9" #9!]
In the world of Dark Horse and Joss Whedon's Buffy The Vampire Slayer, emotions often run high. But the most recent arc of "Buffy Season 9" series "Angel & Faith" explores what would happen if the titular characters could see their defining emotions — guilt and regret — taken away in the blink of an eye.
Wrapping (...)

I guess I shouldn't necessarily be surprised how superb this book has been across the board. But as a spin-off of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, a title that was frustratingly inconsistent towards the end of its “Season 8” run, I wasn't holding my breath. Luckily, I was totally wrong, on all counts: Buffy has been excellent since it came back in Season 9, and it's quite possible that Angel & Faith is even better.
What makes the title work so well? It may be that (...)

Vampire drug dealers? Almost, but not quite. Angel & Faith Season 9 #2 opens up to a large fight on the streets of London. Faith and the girls are fighting a horned demon and his vampire cohorts in order to stop what they think is a drug deal. Lots of deaths later we find it wasn't drugs at all, it's…(sorry, no spoiler here).
Thanks to Angel stepping in at the end of the fight, one of the girls lives to fight another day. Luckily only Faith knows he was there…he is (...)

Written by Christos Gage - Illustrated by Rebekah Isaacs
Following some bad—many would say unforgivable—choices as Twilight, Angel needed to hide away and wallow in his guilt. But with a little TLC—courtesy of his only remaining ally, Faith, Angel is back to fighting the good fight and taking demons down one by one. With the Watcher files at their disposal, Angel comes up with the ultimate plan for redemption.
It's been a month, and they're back! Buffy's (...)

After the weak end run of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight," I was feeling distinctly unenthusiastic about the "Buffyverse" in comic book format. Unenthusiastic enough, in fact, that I was finding myself wondering if I'd continue to read the comics as they returned this fall.
Then fellow reviewer Kelly Thompson gave the first issue of "Angel & Faith" a 4.5 star review, and my first thought was, "Faith is starring in Angel's new comic from Dark Horse?" My second thought was, "I need to (...)

What it is: Angel and Faith #2
Who done it: Christos Gage (w), Rebekah Isaacs (a)
When it comes out: September 28, 2011
The review:
We ended Angel and Faith #1 with the bombshell that Angel intends to bring Giles back from the dead. How he plans to do it and how Faith figures into that plan are the topic du jour in issue 2. What you are about to read is a tease. We do our best to favor textual analysis over spoilers but, be warned, that some aspects of the issue will be discussed. With (...)

The “Angel” series (and related books) at IDW were, for the most part, good and interesting books with compelling stories and solid creative teams, but somehow it feels comforting to have everything that goes with “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” safely housed under one publishing roof, Dark Horse. Already “Angel & Faith” feels more tightly tied to “Season 8” of “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” and I suspect all will be the better for it in (...)
