On the syndicated fantasy series Legend of the Seeker, the Seeker has dispatched the evil Darken Rahl, and our heroes (Richard, Kahlan and Zed) should just be able to lounge around and goof off knowing that all is right with the world ... right ?

Not so much. Unfortunately, the good guys are about to experience the Wizard's Second Rule when Legend of the Seeker's second season begins this Saturday in syndication, right after a special episode designed to catch you up on the events of last season.

"Season two is basically going to pick up where season one left off, but what Richard is going to be confronted with is Wizard's Second Rule, which is something from Terry Goodkind's novel series," said executive producer Kenneth Biller. "And Wizard's Second Rule says, 'The greatest harm can result from the best intentions.' So, essentially, Richard [Craig Horner] is going to have to deal with the repercussions of his big victory, of fulfilling the prophecy, and killing Darken Raul."

Here are nine legendary spoilers for the Seeker's second season, along with hot new guest stars (spoilers ahead !) :

Someone new joins the team, and Kahlan's going to have issues.

"There is disorder and disarray among the D'Haran's and the Mord'Sith in the absence of a strong man to unite them," Biller said. "There is a lot of jockeying for power and position, and Cara [the Mord'Sith who helped Richard kill Rahl in the season-one finale] ends up making a very tense alliance with Richard and Kahlan, ... which Kahlan [Bridget Regan] is not happy about."

Tabrett Bethell joins the cast as Cara.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Charisma Carpenter guest-stars.

She's in the season premiere, and she looks hot.

Remember those skin-tight Mord'Sith outfits ? Well, Carpenter's more than looking the part. "She plays a Mord'Sith, who clashes with Cara and ultimately with Richard," said Biller. BTW, you'll want to check out the knock-down drag-out fight between Carpenter and a naked Cara.

There will be plenty of other hot lady guest stars this season.

Star Trek Enterprise's Jolene Blalock ("T'Pol") will be recurring as Sister Nicci, a Sister of the Dark, and Jessica Marais's Denna will return to spin Richard's head around again.

"Denna has found a new tantalizing and very profitable way of making a living now that Rahl's empire has crumbled, but what we also will realize is that this is just a front for a grander plan she has to take over Dahara," said Biller.

"The show is way hotter and sexier this year."

"There's an incredibly hot and sexy introduction of Cara," said Biller. "It has a higher degree of epic action than we've shown before on the show. ... It's going to put Richard right square in the middle, in between former adversaries and former allies. Richard is going to have to make a very, very difficult decision about who he is and what his quest is going to be. It sets up the whole quest for the second season that Richard is going to be on with Kahlan and Cara. It sets up some real tension between Kahlan and Cara, who don't like each other very much and don't trust each other, but by the end of that episode, for reasons the audience will discover if they watch the episode, both will be by his side."

Without someone in charge, there's chaos.

"People are rising up and trying to claim power in the wake of the vacuum that's been created by the absence of Darken Rahl. Richard is going to be confronted with what happens to Rahl's armies. Now that Rahl is gone, what happens to the Mord'Sith ? Now that Rahl is gone, what happens to the people that used to follow Richard as the Seeker that were fighting for the resistance ? Are they all good ? Are they all bad ? What are the repercussions of the aftermath of a war, and refugees, war crimes, all sorts of things like that ?" said Biller.

Last season's battle between Richard and Rahl screwed up the world more than just a little bit.

Richard, Kahlan, and Zed (Bruce Spence) will discover that "the powerful magic that collided when Richard killed Darken Rahl tore a rift in the veil between the world of the living and the underworld, and from the underworld, which is ruled by the Keeper, new and dangerous threats to Richard and to all life itself is going to emerge," he said.

There's going to be war.

"The keeper of the underworld is now waging war on the land of the living, and Richard is going to have to fight that war. He's going to have to fight the creatures and minions of the underworld that are trying to essentially destroy all life, and while he's doing that he's on a quest to find the Stone of Tears. Legend has it the Stone of Tears is an ancient object that will heal the rift and once again protect the world of living," said Biller. "Richard's going to come up against our coolest and scariest creature that we've ever done. An unkillable creature." How do you kill and unkillable creature ? "You'll have to watch," he said with a laugh.

Richard and Zedd will discover more about their own past.

Richard will learn more about the mysterious circumstances of his birth. "He's going to find out that he's not exactly who he thinks he is," said Biller. Meanwhile, Zedd is going to "learn secrets from his past that he didn't know about. We're going to find out more about Zedd's history, some of which is dark."

The new season will riff on the book.

"As we did in season one, we're using some of the tentpoles and some of the mythology and some of the characters from the second book, but we are riffing on that book, as we did in season one. We're creating lots of stand-alone stories that fit within that overall season-long quest. So it'll be a combination, as it was in the first season, of characters and elements from the book and those that are either of our own invention or our riff, if you will, on some of Terry Goodkind's mythology and characters."

Charisma Carpenter is moving from Hell-Lay to D'Hara. The geek-bait hottie behind "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel's" Cordelia Chase will be guest-starring in the second season premiere of "Legend of the Seeker," the New Zealand-based syndicated fantasy show from executive producers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert.

Executive Producer Kenneth Biller told a packed room at Comic-Con that Carpenter will appear at Triana, a leather-clad Mord'Sith warrior woman who inflicts pain. So, it's not that much of a stretch from Buffy-era Cordelia, is it ? Footage from the second season promised fans a tear in the veil to the underworld which would release skin-flaying scary creatures bent on wiping out all life at the behest of The Keeper of the Underworld. Plus, at least one hot, leather-clad, girl-on-girl kiss. Based on the reaction in the room, the producers know their audience — that split second snippet got a resounding "Whoo !"

While Carpenter's Mord'Sith hottie is only on tap for the season premiere, Biller announced that Australian actress Tabrett Bethell, who played Mord'Sith Cara in the season finale, will be joining the cast as a series regular.

The second season of "Legend of the Seeker" premieres in syndication the weekend of Nov. 7. Check your local listings for time and channel.

Born July 23, 1970, in Las Vegas, Charisma Carpenter was named after an Avon perfume (a fact that did not sit well with her). She studied classical ballet from age five. Her family moved around often. As a youngster, she entered many local beauty contests. Charisma attended Gorman High School in Las Vegas. At 15, the family moved to Rosarita City, Mexico, and then to Bonita (a suburb of San Diego) where she attended Bonita High. Charisma finally transferred to Chula Vista School of Creative and Performing Arts, where she graduated in 1988. In high school(s), she was a cheerleader, and did the typical teen things : sneaking out and having boys over when mom wasn't home. Charisma's nature tends to be pensive, which some classmates unfortunately misinterpreted as being snooty. After graduating, she traveled throughout Europe, then went on to college. She also worked as an aerobics instructor and in property management. In 1991, Charisma was a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers. In 1992, she moved to Los Angeles. She audited classes at Playhouse West and was cast in over 20 major commercials, including doing a long stint for Secret. Charisma was in a number of theater productions, such as "No, No, Nanette" and "Welcome Home, Soldier." This tall (5'7") beauty with the striking looks, brunette hair with chestnut highlights, and hazel eyes was a natural for TV ; she started in an episode of "Baywatch" (1989) in October, 1994. Because of that appearance, Aaron Spelling personally auditioned her for the role of Ashley in "Malibu Shores" (1996), which had a brief run from March to June of 1996. Despite the short run, TV Guide noticed her and said she was beguiling and had the most fleshed-out character on the show. Charisma auditioned for the title role in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1997) but wound up being cast as Cordelia, instead. She had doubts about this and did not want to play a bitchy character again, but her agent reminded her that she couldn't be typecast until people knew her. Originally intended as a temporary character, to be a thorn in Buffy's side, Charisma's role was popular enough that she became a regular in the second season. She is quick to point out she is nothing like her TV persona, noting, "People might think I'm this awful person, but I'm not—I'm a nice girl". Fans and producers liked the character enough that she was transferred to a bigger role on the spin-off series "Angel" (1999). A long career in TV now seems assured for Charisma. Her hobbies include horseback riding, roller blading, hiking and rock climbing (for her 26th birthday, she had gone skydiving. When the folks at WB heard about this, they made her sign a clause that she would refrain from that for the length of her contract). She has prudently switched to writing poetry instead. The scars her character Cordelia got after a fall in Buffy are actually real. As a young child, she fell into a swimming pool that was under construction at her home, and was run through by a piece of rebar.

Vivid stars the beautiful Charisma Carpenter (Buffy and Angel) and Paul Sculfor (Christian Dior and Jean Paul Gaultier model ) and also features Sean Chapman (Frank from Hellraiser), Justin Hawkins (former frontman of The Darkness), Ricci Harnett (Rise of the Footsoldier, 28 Days Later ) and, I hear, there's even a bit part for Axelle Caroyln Marshall (Doomsday).

The film is directed by one of the smartest dressed and politest directors, Reg Traviss, who is an up and coming independent British filmmaker who shot a huge war movie called Joy Division. On cinematography duties is Bryan Loftus who is the man behind the camera of In The Company of Wolves. Special effects is by one of the UK's best, Tristan Versluis (Sweeney Todd, Book of Blood), James Boyle (Quantum of Solace) is on sound design and, of course, you've got me doing the production design !

Throw into the mix Red Sparrow/Kingsway Films - the production company linked to Zombies vs. Cockneys and John Landis' The Bone Orchard - and the rest of the cast and crew thriving with ambition, I'd say we got a bloody good show going on here !

Vivid is a slight adaptation of a short film made in the late '70s called The Dreamhouse. Reg has added a lot more beef to the screenplay and added some dark scenes and character undertones. We are led into the mind of Susan, an American crime writer who has recently married David and moved to a quiet part of the British country to finish her latest novel. She finds herself questioning her own sanity, whilst others around her are almost playing her as a game. There is a definite Straw Dogs element to this movie mixed with The Amityville Horror and classic, soft '70s Hammer tones. This is more in line with sophisticated thriller/horror movies and is very British. I will be following up soon with a full set report including interviews with director Reg Traviss, Sean Chapman and, of course, Charisma Carpenter.

It would appear that CSI has fallen hard for Charisma Carpenter — and vice versa.

The brunette beauty has been booked for a guest-starring appearance on the hit CBS procedural, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Carpenter will play a skydiver named Mink in the episode "Descent of Man," airing later this season. Sources describe Carpenter's turn as both "fun and memorable." Not unlike the actress herself.

While virtually all other Buffyverse alumni have kept busy this TV season with guest gigs on Private Practice and Dollhouse, Carpenter has filled her dance card with roles in the Sci Fi Channel original movie House of Bones (premiering sometime this year) and, most recently, the indie film Vivid (helmed by up-and-coming writer-director Reg Traviss).

Psychological horror stars Charisma Carpenter

LONDON — Fledgling U.K. production company Red Sparrow has announced its first project, “Vivid,” a $1.2 million budgeted psychological horror set in the English countryside.

The pic will star Brit thesp Ricci Harnett (“Rise of the Footsoldier”) and San Diego Chargers' cheerleader-turned-actress Charisma Carpenter, who starred in TV series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angels.”

Justin Hawkins, former outrageous frontman of The Darkness who is perhaps known best for his revealing jumpsuits, will also star in the Reg Traviss (“Joy Division”) film, which is produced by Red Sparrow principal Patrick Fischer and fully financed via private equity.

The pic about a New York novelist (Carpenter) who relocates to rural England, only to be rejected by the mistrustful locals and plagued by horrific visions of a massacre at her country manor, will film in London and Somerset.

Red Sparrow was formed in November 2007 by ambitious twentysomethings Fischer, James Harris and Kate Glover with the intention of shaking up the U.K. low-budget horror genre scene. Fischer, who produced Mike Figgis' “Love Live Long,” and Harris previously worked at Gum Ball 3000 Films.

Other Red Sparrow projects in development and soon to fly, according to Fischer, include “Bone Orchard,” a Western with Chinese vampires, which John Landis is attached to helm (Variety, Nov. 6, 2008), and youth-orientated horror “Cockneys versus Zombies.”
