Question : Is it true ? There is going to be a Girltrash ! movie ? We've read on Killola's page that Lisa is starting shooting in October so it must be true and she also hinted that the whole cast is going to be back in. Do you know anything more ? Isn't this exciting ?

Answer : Yes, the rumors are true, and, yes, also exciting ! For official confirmation, I checked in with Girltrash ! creator Angela Robinson, and here's what she told me :

We are in talks with producers to shoot a (very low budget) Girltrash ! movie in December, starring the original cast, plus some new characters. I'm writing the script now, and Alex Kondracke (writer on The L Word, who shot the original web series and directed part of it), will be directing.

We are in the midst of getting the Girltrash ! website back online and will be bringing updates from the production as we go. Killola has agreed to write a bunch of songs for the movie, which is awesome.

The Girltrash ! movie is being produced by POWER UP, the organization that also brought us Itty Bitty Titty Committee.

POWER UP's founder and executive director, Stacy Codikow stated, "POWER UP is so proud of all the sucess that has come to Angela since we worked with her on D.E.B.S., that it is our pleasure to work with her again on another amazing concept of hers."

Robinson also told me that she's currently working on the new HBO series, Hung, starring Thomas Jane, Jane Adams and Anne Heche, which will begin airing this summer. She's got a lot going on, so if you want to keep up with her, follow her on Twitter : @RobinsonAngela.

June 22, 2009 — Amber Benson, who earned a large following for her popular role as Tara Maclay on TV's Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has launched a trilogy of novels geared towards young women.

Death's Daughter tells the story of Calliope, a girl torn between an immortal life helping her father run Death, Inc., and a normal human existence. When Callie chooses to leave the family business behind and pursue a career in fashion, she finds herself in a dead end job, relegated to a life of perpetual stasis. That is, until someone kidnaps her father, the CEO of Death, Inc., as well as Callie's older sister Thalia. Now it's up to Callie to find her father and sister, while trying to keep the business running smoothly. If she fails, Callie dooms her family to morality and allows the Devil to choose the new head of Death, Inc.

"Death's Daughter is my take on the classic Hero's Journey, but told from the female perspective," Benson says. I tried to create a flawed, female protagonist who even though she makes some really selfish choices during the course of the book still makes the reader root for her to learn and grow from her experiences."

Following the publication of Death's Daughter, Benson's children's book for Simon and Schuster, The New Newbridge Academy, will be released later this year. Prior to the Calliope Reaper-Jones trilogy, Benson co-wrote and directed the animated web-series, Ghosts of Albion, (with Christopher Golden) for the BBC, then novelized the series in two books for Random House. As an actress, Benson spent three seasons as Tara Maclay on the cult show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She has also written, produced and directed three feature films, including her latest, Drones, which she co-directed with Adam Busch (Warren Meers on "Buffy") and will be released later this year. Benson will also be seen next year in "Another Harvest Moon," which stars Ernest Borgnine, Piper Laurie and Cybil Shepard.

Amber Benson, who spent three seasons playing Tara Maclay on "Buffy the Vam pire Slayer," will be at Mid town Comics (200 W. 40th) June 27 to sign copies of her new novel, "Death's Daughter" — the first in her Calli ope Rea per-Jones trilogy of "urban fan tasy nov els." Ben son's had quite a varied post- "Buffy" career ; she's written comics, novels and an ani mated Web series ("Ghosts of Albion") with Christopher Golden (author of "Hellboy") — and her children's book, "The New Newbridge Acad emy," is due out later this year.

Benson also co-directed the big-screen flick "Drones" with fellow "Buffy" cast mem ber Adam Busch (Warren Meers). That's also out later this year.

Later this month, radio pro ducer Denny Somach will auction off his collection of rock 'n roll memorabilia at backstageauctions.com. So mach, who produces Carol Miller's "Get the Led Out" segments (airing on Q104), has items from the likes of Ringo Starr, The Who, B.B. King and the Kinks. The cat alogue will go online June 14, with the auction running from June 21-28. Average starting price-per-item : $100.

More music : German violin ist David Garrett performs on "Today" and is live in the Ch. 21 studios on Wednesday (7:30 p.m.) to discuss the PBS special, "David Garrett : Live in Berlin." That's the day after the release of his new CD, "David Garrett."

Last, but not least :

* Robert Newman ("Guiding Light") has joined the off- Broadway cast of "Sessions" as Dr. Peterson . . . "The Early Show" had its best May, in total viewers, in 14 years (2.9 million) . . . ABC's "National Spelling Bee" coverage averaged 6.1 million viewers last Thurs day, up from 4.9 million last year.
