I think an original cript nomination for Serenity is DEFINETLY something that should of happened for at least one of these major award cerimonies.

Don’t think it was a diss.. More like Serenity isn’t in the same league as the quality nominated films. Just because you are a fan of a film doesn’t mean it deserves an Academy Award!

Ok, firstly let me say that I am a huge fan of just about everything Joss has done and that I loved Serenity. But, seriously people, who could concider his exclusion from the Oscar nods a "diss"?? Serenity, while wonderful and funny and exciting, is a sci-fi film for a small niche audience and a far cry from one of the great pictures of all time. While I love Joss (LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!) he is by no means Spielberg or Ang Lee, and the film is by no means Crash or Capote. Anyone who thinks differently is simply deluding themselves and, frankly, has no idea what the Oscar’s are about.
