It’s a TV show. Fiction is entertainment, non fiction is educational or at least more factual. Fiction doesn’t really have to be anything other than entertainment - rarely is it factual despite the context of the show (House, CSI etc). I don’t expect my world to look like a Whedon TV show. As we live in an ethnically diverse world, I am exposed me to a variety of ethnic and social groups just by walking down the street, shopping, going to school etc . News and current affairs informs me. I don’t need fictional TV to help me see the real world because I live in it.
