Last night the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films held the 30th Annual Saturn Awards in Los Angeles, honoring this past year’s best genre movies, television shows and video entertainment and singling out the noteworthy efforts of performers and creators for these fantastic visions.

Peter Jackson’s final chapter in the THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy of films, THE RETURN OF THE KING, took home 8 Saturns in all including top honors in Best Fantasy Film, Best Actor (Elijah Wood), Best Supporting Actor (Sean Astin) and Best Director. The show also tied with CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION for Best Network Series.
