Angel Comic Rights Confirmed By IDW

Wednesday 5 January 2005, by Webmaster

IDW(publishers of Metal Gear Solid) have reported that they are to publish an Angel mini-series in May or June 2005. Joss Whedon is apparently on-board as a Creative consultant. The mini-series is to be set after the series, but apparently not going to adress the Season 5 finale. A Faith series could follow.

The problem ? Since Dark Horse still hold the rights to Buffy The Vampire Slayer comics (a "season 8" is apparently work-in-progress), characters exclusive to that series (including Buffy herself) cannot be brought in to the upcoming series.

Great a comic that keeps the Angel/Spike buddy cop show that Angel turned into...

Bring back all the people who died in season 5 (including Cordelia) and not make it all about the vampires and it might be ok.

    From Joss about season 6:

Oz was supposed to join the group and Fred and Illyria were supposed become to seperate entities within the same body (think Jekyll and Hyde/Hulk) before they took down W&H in the sixth and final season.
