Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Buffy-licious Box Art for Complete Collection

At the beginning of this month we disclosed the first information about Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete Collection, a 40-DVD set that contains all seven seasons of the series. As we said at the time, that 40th disc is a newly-made bonus DVD which contains a never-seen Joss Whedon documentary.

Now we have a formal description for this release that Fox has sent around to retailers, plus a small look at the very nice packaging which this release will be contained in:

This beautifully designed, Limited Edition collectible box contains all 7 seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, plus a bonus disk containing a brand new documentary featuring creator Joss Whedon. Each box is individually numbered for increased collectibility and value, and will also contain a signed letter from Whedon and an exclusive comprehensive book with episode listings and memorable Buffy quotes.

SRP is $199.98 in the USA, but you can pre-order it from Amazon.com for $139.99 right now, and lock in your copy.

Also, we’re working on nailing down the exact street date for the general retail release of Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Spike: Love Is Hell (which has been a Best Buy exclusive so far). We hope to be back later today or perhaps tomorrow with word from Fox that clears up two conflicting dates we’ve been given. Stay tuned for that, and if we get a better shot of this Complete Collection packaging (yeah, it’s smaller and blurrier than we would like) then we’ll bring it to you pronto as well!

  • At the risk of evoking the ire of all B/A fans I’m mildly hacked off at what Angel is doing on the front of a complete series box set when he ceases to become a major character in it after season three and is not really in the series much for over half of it. It’s the same way watchers guide part three had a piccie of Angel on the front when he barely appeared in the seasons covered by it (the final three). Why not just have a big piccie of the Buffster on her lonesome or one with the core Scooby gang. Ok I’m being petty but it’s still a point (after all Buffy isn’t depicted on the front of Ast box sets quite rightly so).

  • i agree that angel shouldn’t have such a prominent picture on the box— it would be better to have a picture of the scooby gang.

  • Ok it’s mildly better that Spike’s on there too covering the bases so to speak although the fact that Angel is larger and more prominent is a quibble but I still think Buffyster on her own or flanked by Xander and Willow possibly with Giles standing there too would have been better.
