Buffy’s Charming Third Season in DVD

Buffy and her cohorts swoop through homecoming, prom and graduation festivities in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Three DVD," featuring all 22 episodes of the show’s third year (1999) when Buffy-mania was in full swing.

Willow, Xander, Cordelia and Oz join Buffy as she battles demons, vampires and an evil mayor on the six-disc set. The running time is just over 17 hours.

Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as Buffy, a title-role performance that brought her lots a critical acclaim.

The third-season DVD package concludes with an episode on the senior prom and a two-part episode on the 1999 graduation from Sunnydale High School.

The set, which lists for $59.98, includes DVD extras such as interviews with series creator Joss Whedon and special-effects make-up supervisor John Vulich. Added features include scripts of several episodes, photo galleries, biographies and an audio commentary by Whedon.

There also are five featurettes: "Buffy Speak," "Season 3 Overview," "Special Effects," "Wardrobe" and "Weapons." Each episode is presented with Dolby Surround Sound in English and French.
