Now that Buffy is ending, but the show’s writers are in huge demand elsewhere.

Jane Espenson, the comic genius behind classics such as Earshot and Superstar, is going on to the Gilmore Girls. The what? Well, although the show isn’t shown over here, it’s a ratings smash in the US. From what we can work out, it tells the story of a mother rebelling against her wealthy parents while bringing up her gifted daughter. But we could have got that one wrong.

Marti Noxon, the angstmeister general, is working on a pilot for a show called Still Life. It sounds like a fascinating family drama. Noxon told Sci-Fi wire, "It’s narrated and seen through the eyes of the family’s son, who died a year before. So it’s a little bit Ghost-ish and a little bit Party of Five-ish."

David Greenwalt, the co-creator of Angel, is striving to ensure that his show Miracles comes back for a second season. It stars Skeet Urlich as a paranomal investigator. Greenwalt’s also got a movie deal.
