Fox picks up ’Bones,’ ’War’

’Back nine’ orders guarantee full 22-episode seasons

Fox is showing early support for new fall entries "Bones" and "The War at Home," picking up a full season of both frosh skeins.

The "back nine" orders guarantee full 22-episode seasons. The shows have performed well so far for the net, which previously had also greenlit a full season of fellow new entry "Prison Break."

"The War at Home," from Warner Bros. TV, has managed to hold on to much of its "The Simpsons" lead-in, delivering a 4.1 rating/10 share in adults 18-49 after four airings; show has averaged 8.4 million viewers overall.

"It’s a strong point-of-view family show, which is part of the bread and butter of what we do," said Fox exec VP Craig Erwich. "The funny ones don’t come around too often, and this is one of the good ones."

Laffer stars Michael Rapaport as Dave, the frustrated father of teenagers (Kaylee DeFer, Kyle Sullivan and Dean Collins) and husband to long-suffering wife Vicky (Anita Barone). Rob Lotterstein, Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis exec produce.

As for "Bones," the procedural drama (paired with hit "House") performed solidly for Fox on Tuesday nights, averaging 8.7 million viewers and a 3.1/10 with adults 18-49 after three weeks.

"Bones" stars Emily Deschanel as Dr. Temperance Brennan, a forensic anthropologist who helps FBI agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) investigate murder cases.

Barry Josephson and Hart Hanson exec produce the show for 20th Century Fox TV.

"Bones" is a "good formula for us," Erwich said. "The show has delivered on what we asked it to do."
