David Boreanaz: Soft Macho

- I am an endlessly romantic guy. Every night I declaim self-written poems to my wife, David Boreanaz declares, alias Angel the vampire in the popular tv-show with the same name. [Mag] got a telephone-interview with the handsome actor, who is a bit morning-drowsy, but in a good mood. He does after all have a bit to smile about.
- I have been very lucky to be where I am today. I love my job - and imagine, I never even planned on be an actor!
David was discovered by a manager while out walking his dog.
After a few minor parts he finally broke through as Kelly Bundy’s MC-boyfriend in “Married...With Children”. Then the part as Angel the vampire in the cult-show “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” came along, and David charmed the viewers to the point where he got his own spin off show. But soon the role as the good/evil vampire will be an ended chapter.
- Two weeks ago we shot the last episode of “Angel”. It was a bittersweet experience, and I think it’s sad, both for me and the fans. But now it is over, David sighs. He assures us that he has not been tempted to join the vampire-community.
- I have lived with the part for a while, and admit that I like the part as evil best. That’s why it’s important to have a clear barrier between Angel and David: When I walk through the studio’s security pass, Angel have to check in for the night so I can come home to my family alone, David jokes.
Jamie Bergman, David’s wife, is also an actor. They met at a party, and have a son, Jaden Rayne, together. Jaden as a name was picked because both parents wanted their initials in the name; Rayne was chosen because it rained the day they got married.
- Jayden Rayne has strengthened the bond between us, and I became calmer after I got a son. But I have always been a down-to-earth person, and never particularly fascinated of the Hollywood-circus.
-What happens after “Angel”?
- What I really want is to play in a good, old-fashioned romantic movie. The type where the hero charms the girl. As I said, I am an endlessly romantic guy.
