In the march 19th (next week’s) edition of entertainment weekly, in the "ask the critic" column, Ken Tucker is asked:

"What do you think is the best big-screen adaptation of a TV series and vice versa?-Terry Shimmins

Harrison Ford did David Janseen’s classic TV suspenser The Fugitive proud in 1993; I also liked Brian De Palma’s supersize The Untouchables in ’87. As for movie-to-TV morphs, it’s no contest: The WB’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer gloriously transcended the ’92 cinema schlock starring Kristy Swanson; Joss Whedon got to redeem his slaughtered film script via TV."
