Faith the Vampire Slayer - Tv Movie Campaign

Sunday 26 September 2004, by Webmaster

What TV Movie?

The Angel fans fought a valent battle to try to save Angel. While there’s virtually no hope of the show returning for a sixth season, there does seem to be the possibility of tv movies next year on the WB according to Garth Ancier: "[We] have an offer on the table to Joss to do movies" and Kristin at Eonline: "I hear the Powers That Be at the WB have approached Joss Whedon about doing at least a movie-of-the-week or two (possibly as many as six) next season—thanks in large part to the folks at Save Angel.

The Problem?

David Boreanaz isn’t interested.

The Solution: Faith TV Movie(s)!

So there you have it. We need to get the WB, 20th Century Fox and Mutant Enemy motivated to make these TV movies happen.

Why Faith?

Faith is one of the best characters to lead a tv movie, since there is so much more that can be done with her character. Faith is hugely popular and such a dynamic character.

What about Eliza?

There’s no Faith without Eliza, but she has expressed her interest in continuing to play Faith, recently at the San Diego Comic Con in July and to the Boston Herald in 2003 when she said, "Joss and I discussed the (Faith) spinoff as an idea, and I want to work with him again, whether it’s a spinoff or a film. I love his writing. He’s the man."

Fox has postponed the premiere of Tru Calling Season 2 to 2005 and reduced the episode order to 6 episodes. Eliza should be available to film a Faith tv movie starting in October.

What to do

The campaign has three targets - Mutant Enemy, The WB and 20th Century Fox. We need all three of them to work together on a Faith tv movie (or any new Angel or Buffyverse project). We need to continue the momentum built by the Save Angel campaigns and send a clear message to them that we want Faith included in any project they have planned.

Send postcards, call, fax and email them asking for a Faith TV Movie.

Nope... I don’t want a Faith spin-off or tv movie... what I want is either a Spike or a Giles spin-off...

    We’ve seen enough of Faith

we’ve seen enough of faith? Never! besides, spike and giles have both been on the series almost the whole run. Faith’s been only in a handful of episodes and there’s a lot of interest in her. I think it’s a great idea. And if we’ve seen enough of any of the characters, it’s definately spike.

So, Giles and Spike have both been in roughly 100+ eps each, and Faith’s only been in 30 odd - and yet "we’ve" seen enoough of Faith?

Ya gotta have Faith. (eh, sorry ’bout that......)

They should definitely, as part of this campaign, throw in the fact that James Marsters has expressed interest in doing TV movies, since Spike is one of the most popular characters.

I would love, love, LOVE to see a Faith movie—there simply hasn’t been enough of her. And there’s just so much open and waiting to do with her character. Throw in some Spike... My TV may just burn out from the kind of intensity these actors/characters throw out.

I vote for a Giles spin-off/movie. It’s a pitty they killed Wesley, maybe they could’ve rebuilt the council. On the topic of Wesley, did anybody think that it was a little trivial how they killed him. It seemed like they needed to kill someone for the series finale so they just pulled a name out of a hat...

Ok, I have to admit that I’m not that much of a Faith Supporter - never was. But at least it would be something from the Buffyverse and therefore I’m in! But: I won’t ever get enough Spike! But: I’m a SpAngel addict and they ended up together on Angel and that’s how it ended (and starts all over again if wishes were horses.) So - Faith better keep your hands to yourself...

only way I’d want to see more of Faith is with Xander as her BF.

AArgh no! I love Faith! I love Xander! I fucking hate the rapist that got his victim Spike! Joss is a friggin’ hack, and if he gets to do this, undoubtedly the rapist gets to bag his newest conquest Faith, and I’m damn tired of the bastard Joss’ character bashing to further the great saint rapist that is Spike. The only way I want the Buffyverse to return, is if Joss and his cronies are NOT part of it.

Don’t tell me David’s doing a Sarah Michelle Gellar special and gonna turn his back on the fans. Okay he might not wanna do them but if the studio will only pick up on the movies if Angel "David" is in them will he still say no? If he does then he’s very selfish. Ok sure he might want a break yeah he deserves it but what about the rest of the fans that come to the conventions and buy all the ANgel merchandise. Those box sets and DVD sets aren’t cheap David yet we buy them to support the show and you think he’d show a little appreciation after the amount of brilliant campaigning everybody did to try and keep Angel on air.

Anybody else wondering if David might’ve suggested quietly that that Angel end in the 5th season but keep it quiet so the fans wouldn’t get annoyed?

Seems he doesn’t mind doing the Angel/Buffy stuff when he’s getting freee flights to the convenctions all over the world huh?

Very surprised that he’d end up acting as snobby as Sarah!!!

Think the Faith movies will be a brill idea but poor Eliza getting only 6 episode order and a put back till 2005. Guess that the way the cookie crumbles.

Andrew "Tom Lenk" would be a cool character as he is soo funny and illyria would be cool too.

Would be interseting to see Illyria and Faith working together with Andrew being their "Watcher". (Yes I know Illyris’s not a slayer you know what i mean!)

Personally I want to see a series with Spike, Faith, Andrew, and Illyria. Apart from Spike these are all characters we havn’t seen enough of in the run of both series, and Spike now has enough depth to run his own show (which he didn’t at the end of Buffy, since his only real relationship was with her, but since then we’ve seen him with Angel, Fred, Illyria, etc, and I love him and Andrew together).

Blegh. I don’t like the idea. I agree with the Spike or Giles Spin-off, but not a Faith one.

Nope, not for me. Joss will just screw it up again. The only thing he can do is bash the character of Faith even more, probably have her in necrophiliac relationship, probably Saint Rapist Spike himself. The only way I want the Buffyverse to continue is without Joss and his cronies.

Joss is tied up in movie projects strait through Eliza’s free period. Doesn’t seem like this is a possibility at the moment.

Let’s face it, Faith wasn’t that interesting. She was totally dull. She was only really in season 3. I wouldn’t watch it. She has shown such talent in Tru Calling, that I would be disappointed to see her do a Faith spinoff. Faith was the slutty girl. That’s all.

My God! Listen to the lot of you! Bitching and complaining; "Oh but I don’t like this character!" And "Oh Sarah and David are sooo selfish!" you are forgetting that Sarah and David both have lives, you can’t blame them for deciding to try something else instead of wanting to continue the same TV shows for the rest of their acting careers! All good things come to an end, and well sorry folks, but unless they make a movie or two, Angel and Buffy are dead. However you guys should be thankful that Joss and some of the actors are even considering another spin-off series, so honestly, what’s better: a Faith or Spike spin-off, or nothing from the Buffy-verse at all? C’mon guys we should be HAPPY ABOUT THIS POSSIBILITY!
