Four Buffy/Angel TV movies planned ?

From Rove Live Tv Show

Tuesday 6 July 2004, by Webmaster

Appearing on the Australian television show Rove Live, Buffy and Angel star James Marsters revealed he had been approached by Joss Whedon to star in at least one of four television movies set in the Buffyverse.

Marsters did not provide any detail on the movies other than that each would focus on one particular character, and that either all four would be made or none at all. As far as Marsters was aware, only he has comitted to the project so far.

We’d speculate that other prime candidates for movies of their own would be Willow and Giles, and perhaps Wesley, and that if all four movies were part of an all-or-nothing deal, perhaps this implies all four would tell smaller parts of a larger, overarching story?

Stay tuned for further news on potential Buffy/Angel spin-offs !

I hope the part about Giles is true, as he is one of the ebst characters in the Buffyverse.

I would love to see a movie about Illyria and her struggle to find her place in the world now that Wes died.

A Faith movie would be nice as well, but I bet Tru Calling keeps her busy.

I’d like to see Xander play a role in at least one of these movies.

"and perhaps Wesley"? There is an obvious problem with that.

Will they be using puppet strings on Wesley’s corpse? I seem to remember him being killed by a regular ordinary knife.

Now, that begs the question: does a ’supernatural death’ (one that someone could be ressurected from, ala Buffy) include someone who was killed with ordinary weapons dispatched by a non-human? (aka, a knife like this, or a gun, or an axe, etc.)

Or rather than trying for that angle, perhaps Illyria might take on his form periodically as a way of coping with loss. I doubt that would actually be the case, but it’s at least one way to have the actor back on the screen. ;)

I’m getting tired of these rumors and speculations. If these movies are going to be made, then get on with it already!.

If these movies actually get, I just hope for the return of Vi.

I’m crossing my fingers that this isn’t a rumour, it sounds like a good idea.

First off, Wesley is dead. How do you make a tv movie about a dead guy? Second, the way Angel ended it wouldnt make any sense to have tv movies based on individual Angel characters. It would however if the movies were to lead into a Giles spinoff, but what about Spike? Last we saw he was in an alley way fighting for his life, and if you can’t get DB to commit then how do you play that? Do they just pick up after the battle? I guess I could see that in a way. I dunno if this is true give me some more hopeful feedback. Otherwise I’ll again have to be a skeptic.

At the convention on Saturday, James talked about projects being in the works, specifically mentioning Spike and Giles, as well as Faith and I can’t remember the other character. However, he said these would be TV-Movies, and seemed doubtful that plans would go through, but happy to do it. He also said that he would give Joss five years to do something with Spike, James said he would sign up for anything, whatever it may be, within five years. He then went on to say that Joss will probably call him in 5 and a half years, and he’d still do it - why? Because he’s Joss’ bitch!

To the person who said something about DB not comitting: is it really likely Spike would hang around with Angel after the huge battle?? and they could always have some throw away line about angel being somewhere else, or maybe being dead? and doesnt it HAVE to be all war-like, seeing as i distinctly remember wes saying "the 1000 year battle has begun" in time bomb? so surely it has to rage on till all demons are eradicated from the earth now, seeing as this is THE apocalypse?

So what if Wesleys dead use your imagination for one second. It could be about Wesleys journey to the afterlife. He has a few things to deal with before his soul could rest, thats my guess

His father, Fred, maybe wolfram and hart want his soul. Or one of the magic demons? Man there are always possibilities in the land of Joss. Be Cool Sean GEcko

I don’t see them doing a Wesley movie either, he’s dead and nobody who gives a crap about him is still alive to bring him back from the dead.

So most likely i’m expecting the tv movies to be about Giles, Spike, Illyria and Connor. Giles and Connor are the likeliest because they are still alive, a Spike movie would proably tell a story from his past.

Of course!, Wes wasn’t exactly a well-adjusted man, he didn’t die peacefully so his spirit could have remained on earth somehow.

I think the four are Spike (pretty sure about this one), Giles, Willow and Faith. Faith or Illyria, don’t know which. Joss loves Willow and Alyson, I don’t think he’d leave her out of the project.

I don’t care if he’s dead (I accidently found that a while ago and we’re still on season 4 in the UK... kinda wreaked my day... my fave character dying...) there should so be a Wes film he could just... y’know... not die... *shrugs* I dunno how he died or anything and I don’t want to (till I see it in a year and a half) he could be brought back in some magical way... yeah... cuz we all know how Buffy felt about that... I dunno... but we need more Alexis so there should be a Wes movie cuz Wes has been through so much crap he deserves a movie about him!
