KryptonSite was able to get some quotes from Smallville executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar at the WB’s 2004 Summer All-Star Party held on July 14. Here’s some of it:

"We’re going to introduce a whole new mythology to the series," Miles Millar told us. "So we get away from the cave, and Jor-El, and have a whole new one, which will be set up in Episode One," Al Gough added.

"I’ll say for those Superman fans, they’re going to get it pretty quickly, but there’s also going to be a really good mythology that actually includes Lana and Lex. She’s involved as well. It leads towards the season finale in a really cool way," Millar said.
