Hot Box: TV to talk about (alyson hannigan mention)

Changes: Yeah, I know the May sweeps are only half over. But the 2005-06 TV season is toast. Starting today in Manhattan the big U.S. networks will announce their fall lineups. Then Canadian TV executives wing their way to L.A. to fiercely bid for the new American product. Current betting has ABC moving Grey’s Anatomy into its Monday at 9 time slot now that football is out. Then there are the new series, The Black Donnellys from Oscared Canadian expatriate Paul Haggis plus Aaron Sorkin’s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, both designed to save sagging NBC. Many Cliffs: Cliffhangers are getting far too long and unwieldy. The finale of Grey’s Anatomy started last night and runs on for two more hours. The first hour continues last night’s episode with Izzie (Katherine Heigl) looking after Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Then at 10, guest Sara Ramirez confronts George, and something big is happening to a main character, or so NBC says (NBC, CTV at 9).

Breaking Up: On Prison Break the inmates are already out of prison. Warden Stacy Keach pulls out all stops to find them and maybe that even includes the hounds. Patty Wettig guests as the vice-president, so this one must be big stuff (FOX, Global at 8).

And More: Additional season finales include One On One and don’t ask me if it’s coming back on the new CW. I don’t know (but I still care) (UPN at 8). How I Met Your Mother is definitely coming back although this finale sounds interesting with Alyson Hannigan’s real-life hubby Alexis Denisof guesting (CBS at 8:30).
