James Marsters’ manager confirms his role on "Smallville" Tv Show

Sorry for the late announcement (was on vacation) - Yes, James is set to play the recurring role of “Agent Dox” on the hit WB series “Smallville”. He is very happy to be working with the talented creative writers, producers and actors on this show. Thank you to all of you who voiced your support and (quite frankly) screw the nay sayers who think they know better :-) To any of you concerned that this will affect the Toronto or London dates, don’t worry, James is contractually cleared for these dates.

From Eonline.com :

From aliciajo: Smallville? How f—king fantastic is it that James Marsters is going to be on the show?

Unf—kingbelievably fantastic! James plays Milton Fine, a college professor with an alter-ego named Brainiac, who any Seth Cohen-like comic geek knows is one of Superman’s first major superhumanoid enemies. I’m hearing that Brainiac is going to make the rift between Clark and Lex much worse.

From bluejoe: What is up with the WB lying about James?! What happened?

’Tis the question of the day, it seems. Here’s what happened: On Wednesday, I asked the publicist for Smallville if James was joining the cast. Her response: "Huge guest star coming up on the show, but not him. You’ll find out at TCA." So, as many of you saw in my column on Friday morning, I wrote that according to the WB, he was not joining the show. That very same day, Tom Welling made a surprise appearance to announce Smallville’s new guest star: James Marsters. The WB rep apologized (points for that) and said her boss told her to lie to keep the information from leaking. I’d tell you how I really feel about the whole thing but will take the high road instead and say what the WB should have: no comment.

From ginamarie: Are you boycotting scoop on James? Wouldn’t blame you if you do.

Thought about it, but my overwhelming love for James has won out, especially after receiving a perfectly timed delivery of chocolate-chip cookies from James fans this morning. (Thanks, guys.)
