Last week’s episode, about a Halloween party in which everyone fell under a behavior-altering spell, was strong and reestablished the sense of teamwork that’s been missing from the show this season. Yet though the trappings of the demonic law firm, with David Boreanaz as the new CEO, are very attractive, the plots haven’t paid off yet in a way that justifies the shifts.
