Despite, or perhaps partially because of, critical lambasting and religious protesters, the Da Vinci code raked in $77 million in it’s opening weekend in the United States alone ($224 million worldwide). Colossus Cast Nabs McKellen, Weisz, and Sarandon

The recently ubiquitous Ian McKellen (who features prominently in both the Da Vinci Code and the upcoming X-Men: The Last Stand) has just joined Colin Firth in the cast of Colossus, a period drama set in South Africa about a bird expert who falls in love with an political activist. Greg Kinnear joins Morgan Freeman in, The Feast of Love. Adapted from a Charles Baxter novel, the drama centers on a regular joe (Kinnear) who’s unlucky at love. READ MORE.

Whedon Players Torres and Staite take on Wife and Tribe

According to Variety, two members of the cast of Joss Whedon’s Serenity have landed new gigs. Gina Torres will be co-starring in I Love My Wife alongside Chris Rock. Jewel Staite has taken the lead in The Tribe, an uncharted island thriller.
