’Return’ of screams never quite stilled

Looking scared must be getting old for Sarah Michelle Gellar, whose thespian nerves have been getting a workout since Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Gellar kept the screams coming in The Grudge and its sequel. She can’t even do a family flick like Scooby-Doo without some creature chasing her. No, not Freddie Prinze Jr.

Gellar’s goose bumps are back in The Return (PG-13), opening Friday. She plays a traveling saleswoman who is having nightmares about a cold-case murder. Before long, her route takes her near the farmhouse where it happened. The rest is misery.

The PG-13 rating is the result of violence, terror and "disturbing images" in the film. Wonder if that includes Gellar switching from blond to brunet?
