The final scene? A CLIFFHANGER (yes, A CLIFFHANGER!!) as Angel, Spike and Illyria are about to square off against the senior partners!
These come from spoilerslayer.com, which indicates they come from a source proven 100-percent accurate this season.
(Meanwhile, Fox News has been reporting since Friday night that as many as six “Angel” TV movies are now in the works. I’ve not yet been able to confirm yet, though.)

Does anyone believe that Wes, Gunn and Lindsey are dead? And Harmony betrays them? What about Lorne and Illyria? I want Fred back. I dont care if it is Amy Acker, to me its someone else. I hope it is a great cliffhanger. But you know Joss, it will be.

I don’t care if there are movies in the works. If Wesley and Gunn aren’t in them, I won’t watch any of them.
I never really cry at tv shows, but I won’t be able to hold back when Wesley falls.

I refuse to read this. I did catch the words "all dead," but that’s nothing new. Joss said he may kill everyone on an interview. I’d rather be suprised, for this one last episode.

I so can’t believe this! I honestly don’t think Gunn and Wes are going to die. Lindsey could, but I don’t believe Joss would kill off so many characters... And about the cliffhanger... they better not do that if there is no Season 6 cause I’m sure I’m not the only angry person here

What doesn’t make sense? It’s an apocalypse.
What happens during an apocalypse? Hmmm? Oh yeah, people die. And the brave ones, usually die 1st. (Uness they’re really smart, or strong, & lucky on top of that.)
You can’t aways get a happy dappy ending, where everyone rides off into the sunset, with their lover on their arm, and som on and bla bla bal. We need realism. (Besides, narrowing down the characters, does tend to make it easier to gather a cast for a movie.)

Maybe the death of gunn, wesly and lindsey is a way of getting to the place where angel spike and illayria are, and about to fight the senior partners.
This way everyone dies trying to save the apocolypse.

mmmm he did mention he might kill everyone and not explain why but a cliffhanger...I’ve seen season ending cliffhangers that made me want to throw out my tv or computer monitor; whatever I was watching it on, but a series ending cliffhanger.....argggh only the promise of tv movies keeps me calm

if there are going to be telemovies, they want to keep everyone hanging! if joss ties things up too much he won’t have as many options open for where to take the movies. a cliffhanger with loads of ambiguity is good!

MR.Weedon always has a great imagination and it’s very complex sometimes. I just finished watching Connor’s return and it was great. But I was expecting more...in the sense final season but they took it another direction completly....four more to go..sadly

Yeah Joss pisses me off too. He’s just bitter that they cancelled his show, so he’s being an asshole with the ending. The WB might be right; Joss has screwed around so much with the show that it’s not at all how it started because he keeps killing off the characters we like. I want Illyria out and Fred back. I won’t watch any stupid TV movie without Alexis Denisof as Wesley and J. August Richards as Gunn. The only character death I can forgive Joss for is Cordy’s, because it was Charisma’s choice, not his. And I think they put Mercedes in the show just because they like her personally. Her character sucks and isn’t funny. I hope Joss reads the stuff on this web site. You hear me, Joss? Quit taking it out on your fans. That’s a sure way to lose them.

Joss makes the charecters so deep and real that you can’t help but love them and then tears them away because he wants you to feel the pain the other charecters do. I think ending it this way is so brillant and captures what it is that Angel and Buffy were, a uniqe show that could always shock you right down to the end. I’m angry that he’s killing off Gunn, Wes, and Lindsey to but that just shows what a great job he’s done creating them. And besides this is the Buffyverse nobody ever accualy stays dead. With the promise of TV movies I’m willing to be they’ll be back. and is it just me who is completely into the Illyria charecter?

I don´t understand why UPN just do not pick up the show as they did whit Buffy by the end of there´s fifht season, I mean Buffy was cancelled too, exactly by the same time that Angel, so why UPN just don´t buy the series to The WB and keep it alive for at least two more season, maybe then Joss could create a final as goos as Buffy´s ending, in the seven season, and WE all would be HAPPY!

I really don´t care if they do movies for tv or if they do a FILM, the only thing i care about is Angel: the series! At first i was in denail when i heard that the was coming to an end, after three days i get the news i became calm and start to acept it, becase i realize that Joss was surelly to crated an episode to remember! As good as Buffy´s ending, and i become to think in the diferents ways the show should end, the explication of everything, including Buffyverse trama! I MEAN EVERYTHING! and of course Angel becoming human... Spike becoming the only vampire whit soul, Fred coming back and fooling for Wes, and finally the others finding HAPINESS, just like BtVS, all right somebody dyind, but whit good lines, batles, scenes, effects, endings, you know what i mean... AND THEN I READ THIS, WHAT THE BLOODY IS, THIS??? You can imaging, the only thing that keep me going after i heard about Angel´s finale was the INCREDIBLE GOOD ENDING! that only Joss could create, whit every thing i whis for or at least an END! I hate season finale whit cliffhangers but a show ending like that?!?!?! It just not feer! It´s like Joss hate it Angel, how can do such a diferent things whit Angel and Buffy, they two were GOOD shows whit the sames fans, and the booths need it the SAME RESPECT! this is just UNBELIBABLE!!! What i supost to do whit my DVD collection?!?!?! They terminet Doyle, Cordelia and Wesey, so that means that the only original caracther of Angel is Angel?!?!?! HOW JOSS CAN DO THIS? Did you ever stop and think that no one would be availible for movies next year, so they/he had to kill them off?
When the news about the cancellation came about, Joss said he would like to do movies next year, but it is to soon to think about them. Meaning people might move on to other things, and he will not ask them to wait on a whim.
Personally, I could care less who dies, it’s just a show. As long as the plot is good, go with it.
Actually, characters dying can be better, it makes it look real.
Be real now, how many times can you fight demons and get out alive? Only the super strong (like, Buffy, Angel, Illeria, & Connor) are expected top survive such battle all the time.

What do you mean, "that’s no way to end a show"? It’s exactly the way to end a show! Think The Wild Bunch, think Blakes 7... if you want to watch your favourite characters gets all warm and fuzzy, get a screensaver. Those of us who enjoy good fantasy drama want exactly what Joss delivers, thankyou very much.

Perhaps Joss is having it end as a cliff hanger so the show has a chance of being picked up by another network. It worked for Buffy and Angel has faced cancelation before and survived, so it could make it again. It’s kind of silly that James Marsters character survives one series finale, only to go to a show for one season before it gets canceled. For all the Spike/Fred people out there, Spike said he loved Fred, that’s a first for their friendship/relationship, too bad she’s dead though. Spike and Angel really should forget about Buffy and move on.

I want to know why Buffy is not going to appear... why not... SMG said her schedule only allowed her to be in the very last episode and Joss said no... why?? MAYBE it’s a trick... maybe she will be there... and ending with a cliffhanger would really suck. I hope the saveangel campaign actually works, but i doubt it... who cares about a movie— we want the show! I would like to see FAITH, too... but that’s doubtful since she’s got her FOX show.

Hmmmmmmm... I think I’m just gonna take this with a grain of salt until I here Joss or some other executive confirm it.
Also, wasn’t there something about the final eps being centred around saving Buffy from some evil, even though SMG couldn’t film.
I dunno, it sounds a little strange to me... but then to think up the stuff that Joss does he has to be... a little strange.
But that’s why we luv him.

I know there are more important things in life to complain about (looks towards the Middle East, and other the problems in the world including slavery (yes it still exsists people), prejudice, religious persicution for against various religions in different parts of the world, intermine camps (that still exsists too in the world in various forms), ect!) but lets face it, this is a small matter that’s easy to think about and people will complain.
People will complain about this because there’s something very refreshing refreshing about this show. In this imaginary world, the lines between the "Good" guys and "Bad" guys is well defined and it seems that although evil happens in the world good will always make some headway against it. People will feel somewhat cheated by this ending and I am one of them.
Now, to the point since I’ve ranted a bit. I just watched the ending. Is there any place to complain? I know they have been building this up for weeks, but the ending story came off as weak. It was a build up then a defaltion. I know we are either suppose to believe they die fighting or they win, (you know, the idea of ending their lives the way they lived, heroicly) BUT IT’S REALLY FRUSTRATING FOR FANS TO WATCH THIS! It’s almost as frustrating as watching the first ending to the anime series Evangelion (a great mind bend like the anime series Boogie Pop Phantom and Lain the Serial Experiment).
Like Farscape, Invisable Man, and even Alf, Joss Weldon has continued the annoying tradition of ending a series on a cliffhanger..... Maybe he’s hoping enough people will complain and they’ll pick up another season? I don’t know. I feel he could have done better, and they should have made it a 2 hour finally instead of one. Maybe in Marithon format it would seem better, but I doubt it. I really hope the rumors are true about picking up a movie. Thanks for the last five years of Angel, but I wish you would of ended it better........(yeah right like Joss Weldon’s gonna read this :-) ) Take Care all.
