Question: As a fan of Buffy and The O.C. I have to ask: Does Ryan’s new crush Lindsay live in Buffy’s old house? When she closed the door on Ryan, it echoed previous slams on Angel and Spike - right down to the very same door! I think. Please tell me I’m not crazy. - Tess
Ausiello: While I can’t vouch for your sanity - you are reading this column, after all - I went back and checked the Dec. 9 O.C. and you’re right! Lindsay did move into Buffy’s old digs. I think. I’m still waiting for the show’s rep to get back to me with the final word.
Sorry, but it’s not Buffy’s house. Take a look at the link below. That’s the house from The O.C. that is spoken of and it’s not the former Summers’ residents.
No, it not Buffy’s house. The easiest way to check this is just to take a look outside and you’ll see that the neighbouring houses are all wrong. But there are a lot of other things that shows that.
1. Lindsay’s front lawn is too small.
2. The front porch is only too tiny.
3. It was always sunny and bright in Buffy’s front lawn and Lindsay’s front lawn is in the shade because all the trees there.
4. Even if you stripped Lindsay’s room from every single furniture it still doesn’t look like any room in Buffy’s house.
5. The roof’s angle is is too steep and it even leans in the wrong direction. Buffy’s roof leaned towards the road, Lindsay’s doesn’t.
There are a few more minor things that differs aswell but I think it’s enough proof now. That being said I do see the similiarities in arcitecture and style so I suspect that it could be in the same neighbourhood.
Hmm, okay just so you guys know, this is as far as I know, Buffy’s house. I am not only a hardcore Buffy fan but an OC fanatic. If you go back and watch the last episode ’The Chrismukkah That Almost Wasn’t’ (it is being reshown on Thursday at 8pm) look at the house closely. Look at the front porch...it has the exact same swing. The ledge on the top of the house is the same and so are the stairs. The lawn is so the same, because when Seth and Lindsey were walking it looks as if they stopped in the exact same place as in the episode where Xander and Anya kiss in the 6th season while discussing their engagment. Watch the episode, record it. Its the real deal I think
P.S. for the last poster, Djunglerban, the interior of the house wouldn’t be the same because they didn’t use the inside of the house. The BtVS crew designed a whole new interior that they could use on a soundstage.
You guys are all wrong! Buffy’s house was destroyed - it fell into a gigantic...sinkhole triggered by an earthquake (I think is how the local news described it.. but I happen to know the entire town - or at least a considerable portion of the ground forming its foundation - was sucked into a portal to various evil dimensions) Seriously! The only people that escaped were reportedly a group of Girl Scouts (and their chaperones I think) who were apparently hosting some sort of Open House at the local school on Weapons Safety (as evidenced by the stuff they were carrying on a bus that barely made it outside of town when the event happened).
So to sum up - no one can be living in that house - it just isn’t there anymore.
(before anyone gets truly dismayed, yes, I can separate tv from reality.
So repeat after me: "The OC is a TV show...Buffy’s house was destroyed in real life... so it can’t be used as a prop!"

Happy Holidays to all Buffy (and OC) Fans :-)
http://seeing-stars.com/ImagePages/BuffysHousePhoto.shtml - picture of 1630 Revello Dr. as we know it. I’d say they aren’t the same house... the porch is over to the left too far, the upstairs windows are missing in the other pic.. but at a glance, they do look similar!
I haven’t seen this episode so can’t comment on whether Buffy’s house is in the OC but it does appear in the film ’Corrina, Corrina’ starring Whoopi Goldberg.
Does anyone here actually WATCH Buffy? I looked at the pic, Buffy’s house is bigger, the door is different, and that house is nothing like it. Unless that wasn’t the right pic, not Buffy’s house.
Guys, I have been to "Buffy’s house" it is located in Torrance, Ca just a couple blocks away from Torrance High School (Sunnydale High School/Beverly Hills High/and the school from She’s All That) and I have numerous pictures. This house on the OC is similar but definitely *not* "Buffy’s house."
Oh, and according to the 80’s film site, both Nancy’s and her boyfriend’s houses were filmed on North Genesee Avenue, Los Angeles, CA for the first Nightmare movie. http://www.fast-rewind.com/
Well that’s just silly-everything is the wrong way around! I am a happy Buffy-nerd, and proud to say it, and that is without a doubt not the same house used as 1630 Revello Drive.
