Tamara Johnson talks "Browncoats : Redemption" Fan Film

Monday 1 August 2011, by Webmaster

The crew of "Browncoats: Redemption" has broken all ’the rules’. They aren’t film-school grads. They don’t have relatives working in the industry. NO ONE at the studios has any idea who they are. Oh, and instead of being LA based, they’re from freaking BALTIMORE.

And what have they done? They are first and foremost fans of a television show that was misunderstood maligned and cancelled prematurely by its network. This show also has a huge fan base and that same fan base made enough noise that another studio actually made a motion picture of the show. Sadly, nothing developed any further. So these folks come along, loving this story, and want to continue the idea that has resonated with all its fans. They write a script, get the creator’s blessing, get the studio to give their permission and THEN they actually were true to their word and wrote, directed and produced a film that would continue to tell the story to which fans are so loyal.

Browncoats: Redemption is more than just a fan film. It embodies the very spirit of Firefly and Serenity. It’s the’ little guy’ who has done the impossible. It’s a group of disparate people who, united, have made something everyone else only talked about. And the fact that the proceeds go to Charity is just the cherry on the sundae. Talk about selfless. It’s looking to care for your own and caring for those who need to be cared for. It’s being loyal to those you represent. It’s proving that you really CAN’T stop the signal. They have done the impossible and that makes Browncoats: Redemption a mighty force that people will point to for years to come.
