Veronica Mars, a word from Stephen

Hi All. I keep kicking myself to come here and write more. I just got back from a few shows in Arizona. It was a Great trip. I’ll try to update my blog more often and provide you with tales of my travels.

I’m excited to have my song "White Balloons" placed in an upcoming episode of Veronica Mars. The song is being used twice in this episode. The episode airs Tuesday, February 13th at 9PM on the CW network (check your local listings for exact dates and times). To listen to the entire song now, go to my Myspace site at www.Myspace.com/stephenashbrook. Be sure to sign up for the email list and add yourself as a friend if you haven’t already.

A great Veronica Mars moment is when Joss Whedon guest starred on the show. I’m a Joss Whedon fan from the work he did on Firefly and then the movie Serenity. Veronica Mars often gets compared to his show Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Hopefully I’ll be able to place a song or two in a show of his as well.

"White Balloons" was written for a friend of mine, who recently lost a young nephew to cancer. What can we say to someone who’s grieving to make them feel better? Nothing truthfully, but I think that’s the point. Grief forces you to take time out and deal with your feelings. In the end, "if it hurts, it’s supposed to." I co-wrote "White Balloons" with Pete Droge and Elaine Summers. It’s going to be on a new EP I’m releasing this spring. We’re shooting for April. I’ll keep you posted.
