Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Willow in The Top 10 Evil Twins

Saturday 26 June 2010, by Webmaster

2. Vampire Willow, Buffy The Vampire Slayer

A broken-hearted Cordelia unwittingly makes the wish (courtesy of demon Anya, the nasty minx) that Buffy Summers had never come to Sunnydale. Cue an alternate universe tale which sees the poor town totally at the mercy of a wicked gang of vampires led by the Master… and at his side is a vampire version of Willow Rosenberg with a penchant for Angel-torturing, general bad-assiness and leather clothing.*

Back when “The Wish” aired in season three, Willow was still largely Buffy’s mild-mannered friend without much in the way of witchy powers, so this was a cool way of showing that she had a dark side just waiting to come out and play. That dark side went down so well that Vampire Willow was brought back in “Doppelgangland”, where she came face to face with an ordinary Willow who declared forlornly, “It’s horrible. That’s me as a vampire? I’m so evil, and skanky… and I think I’m kinda gay.”**

All in all, Vampire Willow was a damn sight more interesting than plain old Willow. Sorry, love.

*Many Evil Twins favour sexier outfits than their doubles, often choosing to clad themselves in leather or PVC for extra shock value. **Some Evil Twins are freer when it comes to sexual behaviour, too. Check out number three…
