I have explored this topic of Tara coming back while doing research for a paper I did on the controversy surrounding Amber Benson’s exit from Buffy and I as well as many fans have come to the conclusion that this "Reunion" plot may have been a mere cover story concocted by Joss Whedon in order to deflect criticism for killing Tara in the first place and that he had no intetion of bringing Tara back at all. The reason I have come to this conclusion is that I have read that no such storyline seemed to have existed prior to that point and no other Buffy writers have ever confirmed that (...)
