I think the author’s comments about Spike is absurd! Spike was made a "regular" on Buffy and given equal screen time as others. It depended on the episode, if it was about Xander’s wedding, it was mostly Xander, if it was about Willow, Willow got most screen time. As far as I’m concerned, Spike barely got any time on Angel. The Smile Time episode had him on for a whopping what two minutes! Big deal.
