We think more and more that this news is a fake because NBC will announce his schedule May 17th, Angel staff/crew are no more available and James Marsters has no more hair !, we will try to investigate further. We are sorry in advance if we all have been fooled.
9:00 AM : We’ve just received an email from a person in NBC, we hope the negotiations will be successful. We already know that the final meeting with angel writers and producers has been set up in a few weeks (we got the date), so you have time to show your support to these negociations by replying to this article ! The reliability of the source has been checked. Like you we fear a sophisticated fake, but we prefer to show our appreciation to Angel than to be cynical about this news. If there is a hope for angel, we want to share it with you.
From an inside source at NBC :
"It has come to our attention that there has been a vast public interest to see a return of this series. A forthcoming series is in negotiation, and NBC will go ahead with a sixth season if the public response is strong enough."
OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! NBC! I can’t believe that NBC would pick this up. They are my heroes!!! Probably one of their pilots didn’t pan out and instead of taking a big chance they decided to take a safe route with an already popular show with the biggest fan campaign ever behind it.
Are we talking about a sixth season of Angel or another series? That’s just a tad confusing. Although this sounds like a great fit, I’d be suprised if this came to be. It seemed quite obvious that Boreanaz was reading to hang it up.
This is great news, I’m still having trouble accepting that the show was cancelled when I felt it just kept getting better and better!!! Hope these rumours turn out to be true!!!
smart move nbc, you will gain critical acclaim without a doubt! this show could finally get some award status that along with buffy has been sorely deprived! people will watch!!!!

DB might be ready to do other things, but if it is true NBC is a big network that could be enough to make him change his mind. My question is if it is true what are they going to do with the major character they kill off in the last episode? Cuz if they bring the series back they better bring that person back too! And Fred! LOL I read somewhere that before it was cancelled that Amy Acker was supposed to play a dual role next season, not sure if that was true or not but I doubt they would have killed off Fred if the series hadn’t been cancelled.

End of two great shows.. Friends and Frasier.. a beginning of something wonderful. I wouldn’t never thought NBC to be the network to do it but wow, I really do applaud them.
I’ve never posted here before, but I definitely want to add in my hopes and wishes for a season 6 of Angel. I, along with many, many other devoted fans would be overjoyed if NBC picked up ’Angel’, so if those at NBC are reading this feedback, know that we all support you if you decide to pick it up!
That would be so amazing. I’m not sure how the show would change due to the venue change, but I would definitely be excited to see it. Please, NBC, save our show! You would have so many loyal fans and endless adoration simply because you helped us.

Please please bring Angel back for another season! There’re so many stories left to tell, so many that don’t have closure, and the new format of the series makes it look like a completely new show,give’s it new life, with so much potential for good storytelling. Oh PLEASE bring it back!!!!

an angel season 6 would be great...and a spin off would be great.
but i dont think a spin off can happen...becouse of all the charectors...angel, spike, gunn, lorne, illyria...not to mention the entire buffy cast...leaving those people out and and leaving some of the angel cast out...would just be bad..wouldnt be no settleing to anything.
Whoa, okay, didn’t see THAT coming. First time poster; think this warrants it. With the Firefly movie coming out next year Joss Whedon and all his creations can only get huger and more popular, too - anyone who picks up Angel won’t regret it! Besides which, such brilliant writing DESERVES to continue; there’s not much ever written in ANY medium that approaches the richness, depth or sheer emotive power of Whedon’s work. Go NBC! p.s. a spinoff would be almost as good, yeah; I dunno (and dont want to know!) what happens to all the characters in these last coupla eps, but presuming they’re intact, any show that centres on either Spike or Illyria or Wes or all of em would kick a lot of ass too.

oh shit yes. finally some good news since the fake wb movies promised to us. there is now reason to live on, and keep paying my cable bill. please nbc pick up angel for at least 2 seasons and several tv movies for the summer. if fox keeps tru calling and at the same time slot, then they could air angel at thursday at 9 so people could watch fox at 8 then nbc at 9. it could work.
oh ps: wb are assholes and lousy business men to cancel a show like angel but keep charmed, 7th heaven and smallville.

I’ve never posted here before but if my posting will help get this show back, I will do it.
Infact, I’ll do whatever it takes to get this program renewed. I’m glad a big, well known, well respected network like NBC is the one that chose to pick up "Angel". I guess they are the only ones that can see what they will be gaining. The rest are stuck in the dark.
I would be so very grateful if NBC were to keep Angel going. It deserves to continue more than any other show currently running, and there is so much more that can still be explored in further episodes. If only Angel were given the chance to go on, it would steadfastly show its worth in the amazing way it has done thus far throughout the past 5 years. It is heartbreaking to think that in just two episodes, everything will have to be wrapped up so abruptly and many issues will have to be abandoned due to the limited time left. This show will never be able to go out the way it wanted. NBC, please go with what you know to be the right decision, and keep Angel undead.
This would be great, even if NBC just picked up the TV movies. Hell anything, even reruns of Angel/Buffy would be better than the reality crap. Maybe there could be a bundle deal and they could pick up Wonderfalls as well. Nothing else maybe David could end could take over Jerry Orbach’s place on Law and Order, could be some fun moments with him and Elisabeth Rohm. Some side humor of us Angel followers. Well heres to hoping this is true.
Oh sweet God! I knew it would happen!!! Thank the Lord for NBC even CONSIDERING to take Angel on!! I am in Australia, btw, and all my friends agree over here that NBC is a Godsend if they take this on. You (NBC) would be a great, great hero to us all.
It would doubtless become a great responsibility to NBC to keep Angel viewers happy, but an even greater asset to have all those viewers jump over to their station!
We over here would all do our all to support a new season! And as for public support, just look at the thousands of dollars raised by Angel viewers, the GENERAL PUBLIC, not billionaires or businessmen, and then judge its support.

First post ever. Just had to comment, I mean wow. I’m from the UK and I know a lot of fans that are devastated at the end of Angel. But if Angel was saved thanks to NBC, I’ll pretty much be worshipping the Gods that are NBC and so will everyone else.

As a 34 year old woman who loves this show very much I kindly ask you to really consider taking on this fantastic show. You would make me and so much fans very very very happy!!! and of course we’ll support the show in every way possible.
I just started watching Angel this season on TNT and now I watch it on Wed. nights I will follow it to whatever network it goes to I LOVE this show. NBC if you pick it up, you will fill the hole that Friends and Fraiser are leaving behind.

This year, Angel was the only reason to watch t.v.. Next year, I won’t care to watch t.v. at all if Angel isn’t on. If NBC is smart enough to pick Angel up, there will actually be a reason to watch t.v.. And I’m sure NBC would gain a bunch of new viewers that follow Angel over to their network. Plus, a lot of loyal NBC viewers would end up watching Angel and some would become fans. It seems like a win-win situation. NBC has a chance here to give us viewers a reason to keep watching by keeping an actual quality show on the air.
It would be such a shame to cancel a series like Angel. There are some really interesting things going on with the characters (Fred/Illyria for example) and I would love to see where it all ends. Apparently Joss has already planned great story lines for the sixth season so why not go ahead!
if this is a reality it would be the the best news i had in a while. in my opinion this is the best written, directed and acted show on tv. this would be a feather in nbc hat and would earn them a large and loyal following,not only for angel but for other shows that or on nbc shcedule. it is a proven show and has the accolades and press to show for it. i plead to nbc to consider this masterpiece where others have failed to realize it

i am a social worker from the netherlands and i recently became a huge fan of the buffy-angelverse. a sixth season would be awesome!

*is skeptical* When I first heard this bit of news, I have to say my heart nearly burst out of my chest. I was so unbelievably happy!
But then rational thought came back to me. David was glad at the show’s end, so it wouldn’t be possible to have an Angel season 6 without Angel. I’m hoping they somehow wrangle David into happily taking his job back.
Also, it would be very hard for me to watch the show without my favorite character, but in the Whedonverse, death doesn’t mean forever. So he could come back.
That being said, I am still skeptical. But I am hoping with ever fiber of my being that NBC picks Angel up. Or even a spinoff would be great.
As the motto of the campaign says, "We’ll follow Angel to Hell... Or another network."
I will follow Angel anywhere, no matter what. NBC would be making a wise choice if they picked up Angel.
Like someone said, Joss will know when it’s time to end it. It’s not time yet. There are so many more stories to be told. I have never once been bored with an episode, or thought about not watching one.
I’m one of millions of loyal Angel fans. All of whom, I’m sure, will flock to NBC to watch their favorite show.
Please hear us out NBC, and save our show. You’d be helping yourself out very much in the ratings department.
NBC, please have the nerve to do what the WB has not been able to do. Face the fact that Angel is a show that has not come to an end, and it has a very loyal fan gathering.
This series has been watched by all age groups and is not just another "teen fad show". Take the time and consider what this show could do for your network.

if this is true fantastic, cheers nbc whoever you are. i have no idea about american networks. when you sell the series 6 to the uk try and put it on channel 4 or the bbc, nobody watches channel 5.
I’ve heard so many rumours that I’m skeptical about this, but since I’ve prepared myself for the end, I figure the worst case scenerio is that I waste the time it takes to type this out. However, if it is true then it’s a very small price to pay.
All I ask of NBC is to give Joss the creative freedom he needs.
Just when I thought it was over, the greatest show ever is dead, We get this piece of brilliant, brilliant, BRILLIANT news ! Angel deserves atleast a 6th season. This show has been so thought-provoking, such a excellent mixture of genres, with epic episodes and just the best cast you could get. I will be beyond happy if NBC pick it up.

Please let it be true! Angel is one of the best shows on TV and the characters grow deeper and more likeable every series. Joss is a geniouse and has so many good ideas in that head of his for his whole buffyverse.
As much as I want this to be true... I just don’t think NBC is going to pick the show up. They are a huge network, and Angel only has a small, loyal, group of fans.

For those who were baffled by the decision to cancel Angel in the middle of perhaps the best season so far (which lets face it, was EVERYONE...) NBC deciding to pick up the show could be the best thing for everyone. For the fans who would miss out on the no doubt brilliant and compelling stories that were to come in a sixth season - for a reason to watch TV basically - and for the network who hopefully will see here what an intelligent, dedicated and loyal fanbase they will gain to build on. A fantastic cast, genius writing, and above all damn good entertainment. What more could people want from a series?

NBC, you have a ton of support in this, just look at all the sites to save angel out there, and the huge petition. Angel needs to keep going. How could such an amazing cult phenomena die so soon? Angel has it’s very own magazine, Buffy-verse has it’s own college credit elective course at some colleges, there are tons of memorabilia, and collectibles, books, novels, comic books to keep the story going and more!
Joss Whedon’s amazing creation has sparked and touched so many of us.
Ten years from now Buffy and Angel will still be talked about and cherished!
Please NBC let Joss give us more!

Erm.. but isn’t it way too late for it to be picked up by another network? Shooting wrapped weeks ago, the sets have been torn down, a lot of the cast and crew already have new jobs. The main players (Joss, Jeff Bell, David Boreanaz) are already doing other things...
