Sometimes all it takes is a repeat.
In an episode that featured Robin Wood (D.B. Woodside) revealing to Spike (James Marsters) that he was going to kill him for killing his mother, UPN’s "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" overtook a The WB rerun of "Gilmore Girls" in the Nielsen Overnight Metered Market ratings for Tuesday night. "Buffy" took in a 3.4 rating/5 share, while "Gilmore Girls" grabbed a 2.7/4. "American Idol," with an 11.5/18, led the hour for Fox.
"Smallville" finished strong as well, finishing about the same level as "Buffy," despite being in rerun status. It earned a 3.5/5, beating out comedies on UPN. CBS was first for the 9 p.m. ET hour with "Celine in Las Vegas ... Opening Night." That program earned a 9.1/14.
UPN finished last for the evening, earning only a 2.5/4, while The WB picked up a 3.0/4. Fox won the night with a 9.3/14.
