Cancellation Buzz : Save Dollhouse !

mercredi 4 novembre 2009, par Webmaster

Dollhouse was on the edge of cancellation in its first season and only pulled through with the renewal because of all the outcry of fan love for the show, and the hope they felt at FOX that that outcry meant fan love would build for Season 2.

But, it has not. And that, my friends, is a problem. As noted in our report about the Dollhouse Season 2 premiere, it "debuted to an abysmal 2.56 million viewers - the lowest-ever rated episode for the series. (As a point of reference, the season 1 premiere had 4.7 million viewers, which while low, looks pretty good by comparison)" (read more).

For its 2nd episode, it "hit yet another series low, with just 2 million viewers" (read more). Ouch.

So, if it continues to drop, or even stays steady around 2 or 2.5 million, that’s not going to deliver renewal. Currently, Dollhouse is scheduled to air 13 episodes for Season 2, with the assumption that if it does well, more episodes could be added for this season, and/or it could get picked up for a 3rd season.

But, Dollhouse fanatics, if we want any of that to have a chance, we’ve got to remind FOX of that fan love AND, very importantly, build up the viewership !

Here’s what you can do to help :

*Watch it while it’s airing on TV, and/or within 2 days on your DVR or online.

*Tell your friends to watch !

  • Let’s face it guys, the audience has spoken. Time and time again this series sits on the brink of cancelation. It’s no great surpise that is there again. The show doesn’t reach a diverse enough audience. It was and is better suited for the SCYFY network crowd. Let’s hope they (FOX) sell it’s right’s to SCYFY where can continue and flourish in a more favorable environment.
