Joss Whedon - Does Wonder Woman hail from Orange County ?

According to a report in today’s Herald Sun, Brandon Davis’s hot-water bottle, Mischa Barton, is another on Warner’s "Wonder Woman" wish-list.

The hot little thespian - who, well, admit it, could be a snug fit for that "Wonder" Bra - is carving out a bit of a film career for herself, thanks to her popular stint on FOX’s "The OC".

Barton recently completed a role in the comedy "The OH in Ohio" with Danny De Vito and Parker Posey, and next, stars in the Black Plague-tale "The Decameron". Could a loop in the Invisible Jet be next?

"Wonder Woman" writer/director Joss Whedon announced this week that he’s looking for an actress in her early twenties to play the Amazon princess, and he has for once and all, confirmed that he won’t be using any of his former "Buffy" or "Angel" cast members - namely Sarah Michelle Gellar or Charisma Carpenter - for the DC comic adaptation. Producer Joel Silver apparently favours Jessica Biel for the part. Naturally, she’ll be one of a slew of young tweens to test.

Ironically, it was Barton’s co-star, Rachel Bilson, who dressed up as "Wonder Woman" in a couple of episodes of TV’s "The OC". She looked killer in the outfit - it’s a wonder that she’s not being considered?

    is Mischa Barton is cast as Wonder Woman...you can bet on the shit hitting...anyone interested in this film will FLIP OUT because its the stupid little whiny O.C. princess...

    had it been Sophia Bush from One Tree Hill instead of Miss Barton things may not have been so bad...she’s at least close to teh comic book Wonder Woman...dark hair...you know...in fact until I realized that Sophia’s character was on One Tree Hill I thought that was who they meant by Hailing from Orange County...

    Not if Joss has any say - Mischa has a reputation for being a diva, and it’s doubtful Joss would be tolerant of an actress who grated so much - unless the studio really strong-armed him into doing it, and the movie would still suck.

    Okay, so Mischa is pretty. But she can’t act! So please no! No Mischa! Even Rachel Bilson would be better! Although I agree with another poster who said Sophia Bush isn’t such a bad choice either. There are tons of better options than Mischa Barton. I have finally found a way to watch ’The O.C’ without getting too annoyed with her, but...please don’t let her become Wonder Woman too!

    Wow! I know Hollywood loves the "wee thin ones"...and not to offend any "wee thin ones" who are reading this, but Mischa had better start lifting weights and eating sandwiches if she wants to be our Amazonian Princess. Come on...how can that twig of a little girl pull off one of the toughest Super heroines of comic book legend. Hopefully Joss will realize he will offend the comic’s entire fan base if he gives in to the Studio’s pressures (if this is who they want). I would love to see Charisma get this one, but any woman who can act and has some curves could win my respect. Diana is an Amazon after all.

    I’m sorry. But, when it comes to this decision. Joss is a moron. Charisma could TOTALLY pull it off! Mischa, though has light hair-KINDA might be okay. But, then again. NO WAY! She’s was too much of a stick. Wonder Woman is an AMAZON! Thick build and large. Therefore...CHARISMA!!! And early 20s?! What are they, STUPID?! They need a more mature person. Like, in their 30s. DING! Charisma! I don’t really like Mischa, but even though Jessica Biel is a muscular woman. I can more see Mischa, than Jessica. BUT, if they NEED a youngin. Then, I have to agree with the others Sophia Bush is a nice choice.

    I think Joss will cast Morena Baccarin as Wonder Woman. In recent interviews promoting SERENITY, Joss seems to be hinting (in a really subtle way) that Morena is a contender. Check out some of the videos he did at comic con over at fireflyfans.net and you’ll see what i mean.

    I agree, Morena Baccarin would be an excellent choice for the part, especially with as many hints as Joss dropped. Also, the article above only mentions Buffy and Angel, it doesn’t mention Firefly, which is somewhat odd unless someone (Morena) is being heavily considered.
