No Spin-Off before Fall 2004 !!?

>>>Okay folks. Bad news. It just comes in droves.

Just got out of a meeting here. Turns out the reason that the Buffy Spinoff was still on our list of stuff was because we had to discuss its demise in this meeting today.

The Buffy Spinoff is dead, for multitudinous reasons.

I am sad.

There’s not much in the way of details. Apparently it was mostly due to the loss of ED. They kicked around some other ideas, but eventually just closed it down.<<<

So, the much discussed spin-off for the Buffy series looks to be dead. Let’s Weep, kids.

Hi everyone,

I’m the one who posted the bad news about the spinoff over at Buffistas, and I can tell you it’s for real. I understand if nobody believes it until Joss says it, though.

To give my credentials - I work at a post-production company in Los Angeles. Buffy is one of the shows we post, along with many others, and thus we were all set to do the post for the spinoff demo. In fact, we had it all locked up. It was ours.

Our sales rep handling the demo informed us of its demise in a meeting today, informing us that the project had been scrapped due to the loss of Eliza as the star, and other reasons.

So, there you go. Take or leave the news as you will. I am normally one of those who would wait until the word came from Joss directly, and would feel that way now if I weren’t privy to the information I have.

If I hear any other news, I’ll be happy to pass it along.

Take care people, and have faith (bad pun) - Joss will provide. There will be new ME sooner or later.
