With last month’s debut of Asuka Katura’s “Blood+” manga and the vaulting success of Joss Whedon’s “Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8,” Dark Horse is now publishing two powerful vampire-slaying epics, series which harbor some important similarities yet are each very distinct. Both feature a young woman who has been specially chosen to fight the undead, but the monster-vamps of “Blood+” are a far cry from the charismatic Angel and Spike. (...)
